This Privacy Policy explains how Oodal Budgets ("we," "our," or "us") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use our service.
Information we collect
We collect the following information to provide our service:
- Account information: Your email address and hashed password when you register.
- Transaction data: Financial transaction records fetched from your bank via Plaid, including date, description, amount, and category.
- Google OAuth token: An authorization token to write to your Google Sheets on your behalf. We do not access any other Google Drive files.
- Subscription data: Your Stripe customer ID and subscription status to manage billing.
How we use your information
- To sync your bank transactions to your Google Sheets spreadsheet.
- To send transactional emails such as email verification.
- To manage your subscription through Stripe.
- To provide customer support.
What we do NOT do
- We do not sell your data to third parties.
- We do not use your financial data for advertising.
- We do not store your bank credentials — Plaid handles authentication.
- We cannot make transactions or move money on your behalf.
Third-party services
We use the following third-party services to provide Oodal Budgets:
- Plaid: Bank connectivity. Subject to Plaid's Privacy Policy.
- Google: Sheets and Drive integration. Subject to Google's Privacy Policy.
- Stripe: Payment processing. Subject to Stripe's Privacy Policy.
- SendGrid: Transactional email delivery.
- Render: Cloud hosting and infrastructure.
Data retention
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your data is removed from our systems. Your Google Sheets spreadsheet remains in your Google Drive and is unaffected by account deletion.
Security
We use HTTPS for all connections, bcrypt for password hashing, and JWT for authentication. Bank connectivity is handled entirely by Plaid using OAuth-style flows.
